Made in California

For more than a decade we have provided select gas strains to the people who have made them iconic all over the world.

Only a small percentage of the genetics in circulation meet the level of quality we are known for. When we hit a honey pot of something extra special we grab it. Maison Gas is how we offer that level of quality exclusively to you.

“Gas” is used to describe genetics that have descended from OG, Chem or Diesel parent strains. If a flower is termed “Gas” it must not be sweet or fruit-forward on the nose. Many gas parents have been successfully crossed with sweet/fruity counterparts, but as a result will often lose their marketability to the Gas connoisseur. A preference for Gas is sometimes seen as having evolved, or more sophisticated tastes because of the broader flavor profile it has versus the simpler, one-dimensional sweet strains. Not to mention the higher THC levels and more intoxicating nose common in some of these Gas parents.

Og, Chem, Diesel, GSC and Glue emit their fuel-like odors due to their distinct terpene profiles.

A terpene is defined as any of a large group of volatile unsaturated hydrocarbons found in the essential oils of plants, especially conifers and citrus trees. They are based on a cyclic molecule having the formula C10H16.

There is no definitive history tracing the origin of OG, Diesel, or Chem strains. Much fictional lore circulates, as documented in the Maison Gas published book “Trees” (First printed 2014). Growers everywhere like to take credit for the evolution of these popular strains. Some crosses which have descended from these parents and have gained popularity more recently can be easier to trace back. But as it stands, the origins of the most guarded parent genetics will remain a mystery.

Maison Gas seeks to support and contribute to the outer lying creative communities through a series a small-run collaborative projects.
